Reminder for Parking and Storage of Trailers, Campers, Boats and More

March 31, 2026

As we begin to notice the leaves changing and temperatures rising, it’s a sure sign that the seasons are shifting once again. Soon, many of us will be taking out our summer equipment and outdoor recreational vehicles for the season.
This is a friendly reminder that the Village of Crestwood enforces Ordinance 2232, which regulates the parking and storage of trailers, campers, boats, and similar vehicles within residential areas.

In R-1 and R-2 Residential Districts, travel trailers, campers, boat trailers, and commercial trailers are required to be stored or parked only in side or rear yards. Please note that side yards on corner lots that adjoin a public street are excluded from this allowance. Additionally, all such vehicles must be parked at least three (3) feet from any lot line and must be placed on an asphalt or concrete surface.

These regulations are in place to help maintain the appearance, safety, and overall quality of our neighborhoods. Being mindful of these requirements is one way we can all continue to be good neighbors and take pride in our community.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping to keep the Village of Crestwood clean, orderly, and welcoming.
