| The Village of Crestwood would like to share the following update from ComEd regarding ongoing power restoration efforts after the severe storms that moved through Northern Illinois on Monday. The storms brought heavy rain, flooding, damaging winds of up to 80 mph, hail, downed trees, and preliminary reports of tornadoes, resulting in widespread damage and power outages affecting more than 530,000 ComEd customers throughout the region. As of Tuesday morning, ComEd has restored power to nearly 300,000 customers and has deployed more than 2,300 personnel to assess damage and restore service. ComEd currently estimates that approximately 80% of affected customers will have power restored by noon on Wednesday, July 29, with the vast majority of remaining customers expected to be restored by 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Restoration timelines may vary depending on the extent of damage in individual areas. As restoration efforts continue, residents are reminded to keep safety a top priority: * Never approach a downed power line. Always assume it is energized and dangerous The Village of Crestwood appreciates the dedication of the ComEd crews, first responders, and public works personnel who are working tirelessly to restore power and respond to storm damage throughout our community. We thank our residents for their continued patience and encourage everyone to remain vigilant and follow all safety precautions until restoration efforts are complete. |
