The Crestwood Police Department will be conducting a Labor Day Traffic Safety Campaign from August 14 through September 8, 2026, with officers increasing enforcement efforts throughout the campaign period.

During the campaign, officers will place special emphasis on impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seat belt violations to help keep Crestwood roadways safe during the Labor Day travel period.

Drive Sober. Buckle Up. Slow Down. Get Home Safely.

The Crestwood Police Department encourages all community members to make responsible decisions when traveling:

*Designate a sober driver before drinking
*Never drive after consuming alcohol, cannabis, or any other impairing substance
*Use a rideshare, taxi, or other safe transportation if you are impaired
*Make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly buckled
*Put your phone down and keep your attention on the road
*Obey posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach your destination
*Never allow a friend or family member who is impaired to drive

The Crestwood Police Department wants everyone to enjoy a safe Labor Day holiday. One responsible decision can prevent a tragedy and save a life.

Celebrate responsibly. Buckle up. Put the phone down. Slow down. Get home safely.

This traffic safety enforcement effort is made possible through federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
