| The Crestwood Police Department will be participating in a Child Passenger Safety Campaign from September 18 through September 30, 2026, reminding parents and caregivers about the importance of properly securing children in vehicles. During the campaign, Crestwood officers will be looking for child passenger restraint and seat belt violations while educating the community about using the appropriate car seat, booster seat, or seat belt for every child. The Right Seat. The Right Fit. Every Trip. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to: * Use a car seat or booster seat appropriate for the child's age, size, and developmental needs Every Child. Every Ride. Every Time. Taking a few extra moments before every trip to make sure children are properly restrained can help protect our youngest passengers in the event of a crash. Buckle up. Use the right seat. Make every ride a safe ride. This traffic safety effort is supported by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. |
