Banners created to honor residents that served in the our nation’s armed forces. The banners will be displayed for one year along Cicero Ave or Cal Sag Road.

Cook County Free Covid & Flu Vaccinations
Cook County Department of Public Health, in conjunction with Cook County Health and CountyCare, is offering free flu and COVID-19 shots at its Saturday vaccination clinics, located in five suburban Cook County locations.
Children (6 months and up) and adults can receive flu and COVID-19 vaccines at no cost, regardless of insurance coverage, at the Saturday walk-in clinics. The clinics are open on certain Saturdays from Oct. 18 through March 28, 2026, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at five different locations in suburban Cook County. A person’s immigration status will not stop them from receiving immunizations. More details about the clinics are below:

Free Weatherization Services through the ComEd Energy Efficiency Program
The Chicagoland Vintage Home Association administers the ComEd® Energy Efficiency Program energy upgrades offering, providing free weatherization services with an emphasis on attic and sidewall insulation, air sealing, health and safety measures, and installation of energy-saving products to income eligible homeowners of vintage homes in Cook County, Illinois. This is a pilot program that is currently limited to residents of the following suburbs: Oak Forest, Midlothian, Lansing, Posen, Crestwood, Thornton, Calumet City and Blue Island.

You deserve peace of mind when it comes to paying your bill. That’s why, if you’re not able to pay your bill, we’re connecting you to available energy assistance funding through the below programs or agencies so you don’t face this challenge alone, but with our help.
Shield of Caring
Shield of Caring is an emergency assistance and homelessness prevention program that provides individuals and families in Nicor Gas’ service area with natural gas bill payment assistance and support for other basic needs, including housing, rental and grocery assistance and grocery packages.
Shield of Caring is a new energy and emergency assistance program administered by The Salvation Army to help residential customers who are past-due on their Nicor Gas bill and have a financial hardship including job loss, illness, military deployment, disability or other circumstance. In late 2022, Nicor Gas announced an additional commitment of $5 million to the program to provide residential customers with utility bill assistance and access to supplemental basic needs programs.
Nicor Rebates
High-efficiency products use less energy and can save you money. Rebates for energy efficiency upgrades are available to all current residential Nicor Gas customers, and participation is simple.
