Start a Crestwood Business
Here is information on the proper procedure for opening a business in Crestwood:
- Provide a detailed, typed-out business plan of what the business entails, hours of operation, how many employees, etc.
- Submit the proposed business plan to the Village Service Director for approval.
- Once approved, either a Special Use Application or a Business Application will be supplied along with the other necessary documents to be submitted.
- This process could take anywhere from two weeks to longer depending on the type of business itself, among other factors.
- The Business Licenses are on an annual renewal, running from January to the end of December.
For a more streamlined, problem-free process, contact the Mayor's Office at (708) 371-4800 as early as possible in the process of establishing your new Crestwood Business. They can help you understand the rules, regulations, zoning, and permitting issues that can be a part of starting a business. As mentioned above, one of the initial steps in the process will be to set up a time to meet with our Village Service Director. At this meeting, you will need to bring in a copy of your business plan to go over with our Service Director.
You should also visit the Building & Zoning Department page to download applicable permits and applications.
