RECYCLING

“We know the science, we see the threat, and we know the time for action is now.

The Village of Crestwood in its efforts to Go Green has set up two recycling containers in the Village. The first container is located at the Crestwood Recreation Center:
5331 135th st.  .Crestwood, IL.   There is also a  second container that has been placed at the Crestwood Civic Center: 14025 Kostner Ave, located on the south side of the building. Both containers are single stream containers, which means residents do not have to separate items. Once the container is picked up by Ally Waste they will bring back to their facility and separate.
ANY TYPE OF RECYCLIABLE MATERIAL MAYBE PUT IN CONTAINER:
Plastic
Paper
Cardboard
Newspaper
Magazines

Mayor Lou Presta has negotiated a new contract with Allied Waste which we are hoping to take effect late spring.  Allied will provide door to door pickup service to our Village home owners for all recyclable goods. Each single family home will  receive a blue container that will be picked up with your regular garbage pick up. This container will be collected EVERY OTHER WEEK. If you currently use a tote, curb side you will receive a container. All condominium owners will still have to use the drop boxes set up in the above designated areas.

We will have more information on our website, www.villageofcrestwoodil.gov  and in our advisor as it comes.

With your help and the help of the entire Village we can help our Mayor Lou Presta and Board to GO GREEN!

“What we do today, right now, will have an accumulated effect on all of our tomorrows.”
