THE STANLEY CUP DREW IN THOUSANDS TO CRESTWOOD!

Longtime Chicago Black Hawks trainer, Mike Gapski,  brought the cup to his hometown, Crestwood. On July 24,2013 the cup started it’s visit at Incarnation Parish and then debuted in a precession to Caesar Park. Here the cup was displayed and  a photo opportunity was available. The Stanley Cup drew a big crowd as thousands waited in line – many for several hours for a glimpse of the legendary trophy.
The Shepard marching band struck up the team’s goal celebration song “Chelsea Dagger” as Gapski brought the cup into Caesar Park. He said he felt like a rock star. “It’s just unbelievable ” he said. “We’re coming here, the horn’s going, and people stopping on the street; it was nice.”
Some fans lined up at 4 a.m., seven hours before the cup arrived.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all who made this event happen.  Many worked very hard to prepare for this event. For those of you who had an opportunity to take pictures with the cup please see the following website for information on your photo!
