| The Crestwood Police Department will be participating in a Child Passenger Safety Campaign from September 18 through September 30, 2026, reminding parents and caregivers about the importance of properly securing children in vehicles.
During the campaign, Crestwood officers will be looking for child passenger restraint and seat belt violations while educating the community about using the appropriate car seat, booster seat, or seat belt for every child.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to:
* Use a car seat or booster seat appropriate for the child's age, size, and developmental needs
* Install and use child restraints according to the manufacturer's instructions
* Make sure harnesses and seat belts are properly positioned and securely fastened
* Keep children in the back seat whenever appropriate for their age and restraint system
* Never allow a child to ride unrestrained, even on a short trip
* Regularly check car seats for proper installation, fit, expiration dates, and recalls
* Set a good example by buckling up on every trip
