No Parking During Snow
Village ordinance requires NO PARKING on Village streets after 2"of snowfall to allow for our Public Works Department to clear the streets. Cars parked after 2" of snowfall on Village streets will be removed by the Crestwood Police Department to allow the plows room to work.
Please help make the jobs of our officers and public works operators a little easier and stay off the streets.
Village of Crestwood Parking
Crestwood Village ordinance prohibits parking on any village street between 2:00am and 6:00am. The reason for this ordinance is so police will be alerted to abandoned vehicles or suspicious vehicles that require investigation. This ordinance also ensures that all streets throughout the Village will be open to fire and rescue equipment in the event of an overnight emergency. This is especially necessary in areas where narrow streets can block large fire trucks. We will continue to enforce this ordinance. Thank you for your cooperation with this ordinance. The initial fine for this violation is $75.00. This is a Village-wide ordinance.
PLEASE
BE SURE THAT YOUR LATE NIGHT AND OVERNIGHT GUESTS ARE MADE AWARE OF THIS AS WELL!

NOTICES
Citizens at Risk Program
The Village of Crestwood is committed to prioritizing the safety and well-being of all residents. In line with this commitment, the Crestwood Police Department has introduced the Citizens at Risk program, also known as Occupants with Autism, to provide crucial information to emergency responders during response calls.
This initiative utilizes the placement of decals and a registration system to inform first responders about individuals with autism residing in homes or as drivers or passengers in vehicles. The program offers free decals to residents of Crestwood as well as non-residents who are employed or attend school in the area. These decals can be affixed near the front door of homes and/or on the rear window of vehicles, effectively alerting law enforcement officers to the presence of an occupant with autism.
By recognizing the decal, officers can draw upon their autism training and adjust their approach accordingly, understanding that the individual may not communicate, respond to verbal commands, or be aware of potential dangers.
Residents who wish to participate in the program but prefer not to display the decal can still complete the form and register without placing the sticker on their home or vehicle. The Crestwood Police Department will then flag the address in their dispatch system, ensuring that arriving officers are aware of the presence of an individual with autism in the home.
This free and voluntary database managed by the department is designed to provide peace of mind to our residents. It serves as a valuable tool for enhancing interactions involving individuals with autism, among other situations, and the men and women of the Crestwood Police Department. The decals will serve as a visible notification not only to police but to all first responders.
The Crestwood Police Department remains committed to ongoing training on the best techniques and approaches for law enforcement encounters with individuals on the autism spectrum. By continuously enhancing their knowledge and understanding, the department strives to ensure the safety and well-being of all community members.
Please click on the link below to participate. Once completed, stop by the station to pick up your stickers. If you have any questions about this program, please email crestwoodpolicedept@gmail.com
Premise Alert Program
The Crestwood Police Department would like to introduce the Illinois Premise Alert Program (PAP). This law was passed back in 2009 and offers guidance to Public Safety Officials to assist citizens with special needs or disabilities. The data that is collected is accessible to 911. This information is passed onto first responders and is confidential.
