The Village of Crestwood would like to make residents aware that Cook County's second installment property tax bills are expected to be delayed this year.

According to the Bremen Township Assessor's Office, second installment tax bills, which are normally mailed by July 1 and due by August 1, are now anticipated to be issued approximately two months later than usual, with a projected due date of around October 1, 2026.

The delay is the result of processing impacts stemming from last year's implementation of Cook County's new property tax computer system. While the system has improved, the extended assessment appeal process from last year has pushed back the timeline for issuing this year's tax bills.

Residents should note that no action is required at this time. Property owners are encouraged to watch for their second installment tax bill in the coming weeks and plan accordingly for the adjusted payment schedule.

Cook County officials expect this year's delay to be significantly shorter than last year's and are optimistic that property tax billing will return to its normal schedule next year.

For additional information or questions regarding your property tax bill or assessment, please contact the Bremen Township Assessor's Office at (708) 333-1591 or email assessor@brementownship.net.
